Animal ControlComplaints about Public Nuisance and Vicious Animals are handled by Monticello's contracted Animal Control Officer and/or the Wright County Sheriff's Office. City Compost FacilityThe city's compost facility is for City of Monticello residents. We accept grass and leaves only. All bags must be emptied and removed. No contractors. If you have a specific issue with the facility, please answer the questions below.
Code Enforcement ComplaintCity Code (i.e., ordinances) can help property owners protect the value of their investment. Monticello city ordinances currently include regulations related to: height of grass and weeds on all properties, appropriate locations for off-street parking, unlicensed/inoperable vehicles, outdoor storage, public nuisance, or construction noise. Alternatively, you may call the Building & Safety Department at 763-295-3060 to report a violation. Please note: reporting an issue is only monitored during normal business hours Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. If this request requires immediate response, please report it to the Wright County Sheriff's Office dispatch at 763-682-1162.
Garbage & RecyclingThe City of Monticello contracts with Waste Management (WM) for residential garbage and recycling services. Please contact WM directly with any issues. Their customer service line dedicated to Monticello residents is 320-258-3948.
Snow RemovalMailbox damage must be a direct hit from the plow equipment, the weight of the snow will not be considered. Irrigation heads in the boulevard will not be replaced if damaged by the plow. StreetlightsResidential streetlights in Monticello are owned and maintained by either Xcel Energy or Wright Hennepin Electric. If you notice a streetlight out in your neighborhood, please notify your electric service provider of the problem. Street SignsSome street signs in Monticello are owned by either Wright County or MNDOT. We will determine who is responsible for the sign and make sure the correct party is notified.
Traffic SignalsTraffic Signals within the City of Monticello are maintained by either Wright County or MNDOT - we will get the information to them as quickly as possible. Please be specific in your explanation with regards to the day of the week and the time of the day, the intersection you are at and the direction you are traveling.
