A city-wide tree inventory project begins Monday, Nov. 13. Tree inspectors will be working Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. through mid-December.
The City is working with the Davey Tree Company. Inspectors will have credentials and will be in white trucks.
Tree Inspectors will be focusing on boulevard trees or any trees in the Public Right-of-Way. You may see them taping or measuring trees in the Right-of-Way section of your yard. As a reminder, Public Right-of-Way is approximately 13 feet in from the back of the curb, but the width can vary by location. Check out this helpful graphic for clarification.
The tree inventory is grant funded and will help create an Emerald Ash Borer Management Plan as part of the City’s Shade Tree Disease Control Program. The inventory is an important step in maintaining Monticello’s tree canopy. If you have any questions or concerns, please call City Hall at 763-295-2711.
