Monticello received a Safe Routes to School (SRTS) grant from the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) for safety improvements along School Boulevard.
Construction begins this month with tree clearing in the area. Several trees along the south side of School Boulevard between Fenning Avenue and Cardinal Hills Park will be removed in the next couple of weeks to allow for trail construction. Letters have been sent to property owners along this corridor to notify them that construction will be starting.
Most construction activities won’t start until school is out for the year except some utility relocates that will likely also occur over the next month or so. For more information about the School Boulevard Safety Improvements Project, click on the “Projects” button.
