We invite you to join us Wednesday, May 3 at the Monticello Community Center from 4-7 p.m. for a Project Open House!

There will be a presentation at 5 p.m. to discuss the project overview, project schedule, and anticipated construction impact. Stop in any time between 4-7 p.m. to discuss specific project items and ask questions one-on-one with project representatives. 

Project Overview: In support of the 2017 Downtown Small Area Plan and the 2018 Walnut Street Corridor Plan, the City of Monticello is preparing to make significant changes Downtown in the area of West Bridge Park, Walnut Street, Block 52 and Broadway. These changes are part of an overall effort to connect the City to the riverfront by improving the ability to walk and bike between the community center and West Bridge Park. These connections will help Downtown businesses, encourage more activity in the park, and create a safer and more enjoyable place for all.

With this project, the City will rebuild the sidewalks and streets around Block 52. This will include connecting Walnut Street to River Street, sidewalk enhancements throughout this area of downtown, on-street parking improvements, and utility updates.
