City Council Appoints Lee Martie to Vacant Seat
Monticello, MN – Monticello City Council has voted on its newest member! Last night, the City Council approved the appointment of Lee Martie to the vacant seat. Martie will serve the remainder of Jim Davidson’s term expiring December 31, 2024. Mr. Davidson resigned from the City Council in October due to a relocation.
Martie is a long-time Monticello resident. He and his family moved to Monticello in 1972. Martie graduated from Monticello High school in 1986 and moved away briefly for undergrad and law school. One of his first jobs after passing the Bar Exam in 1997 was working for Monticello firm, he also did some private practice in town. He’s since worked as the Assistant County Attorney for Wright County, Meeker County, and Anoka County.
Martie ran for election to the Monticello City Council and was on the ballot in the general election on November 8, 2022. He was also a finalist to fill a vacant seat on Council in February 2021.
Martie will be sworn in at the next City Council meeting on November 28. His term will begin November 28 and expire December 31, 2024. Please join us in welcoming Lee to the City Council!
