The Monticello Planning Commission reviews development plans and advises the City Council on all development, including amendments to the comprehensive plan, zoning, platting, variances and other land use issues.
The Planning Commission meets the first Tuesday of every month at 6 p.m. in the Mississippi Room at the Monticello Community Center.
The 5 members of the Planning Commission are appointed for three year terms by the City Council.

Regular Planning Commission meetings are broadcast live on local cable channel 12 (FiberNet, TDS) or channel 180 (Charter). Meetings are replayed throughout the week or citizens can watch Planning Commission meeting recordings online.
