Dutch Elm Disease
Inspecting trees for infectious tree diseases is a routine service offered by the City of Monticello in an effort to maintain the vitality of the community's urban forest. If the City Forester or Tree Inspector identifies Dutch Elm Disease infected trees on your property, they will be clearly marked with green paint "X" and green tape. You will also be sent a Dutch Elm Disease notification letter providing you with the information for removal.
Tree inspections are performed by our certified arborists during the growing season, typically June - August. If you have any questions, please contact the Public Works Department at 763-295-3170.
